Lecture Profile
The manufacturing process of natural biological substances is the result of billions of years of evolution and natural selection, and such substances can be formed structurally at ambient temperatures with unique microstructures and excellent properties (e.g., shells, teeth, bones, etc.). This lecture will introduce a new technology of material preparation inspired by the exquisite biological manufacturing process of natural biological substances, i.e. the preparation technology inspired by biological processes, also known as process-biomimetic material preparation technology. Its main concept and approach are to "develop new technologies for the synthesis and preparation of materials based on enlightenment and inspiration drawn from bio-manufacturing processes or relationship between bio-manufacturing processes-biological structures". This lecture will also introduce in detail the important research areas in this orientation, in combination with several research cases, including biological structures, properties and service performances, and the relationship between bio-manufacturing and biological structures.
